See below REDA's exciting member highlights and organizational developments from the past year and coming up in 2008!

Business Marketing 

The REDA website, www.districtdelsol.com continues to be a highly visited site receiving over 2.5 million hits from over 200,000 visitors in 2007. As a result, our website attracts visitors from over 35 countries annually.

REDA launched an exciting E-Newsletter for our members which highlights our organizational news, the West Side community, and your business updates! Members are able to include their updates by simply emailing REDA staff! 

Discounts were provided to REDA members from REDA members on our new Sol Member Discounts Page located on our website! Note the discount you would like to include when you send back your invoice and REDA staff will post the discount online.

Music and Movies in District del Sol continues to grow and improve; this event will feature an exciting cultural component to its program for the summer of 2008!

Cinco de Mayo Fiesta continues to be a successful, family-friendly event and offers discounted booth spaces for District del Sol and West Side businesses that are current REDA members!

Business Networking and Committees

Our After 5 Networking Events have received a new look and logo. This year the series of events for 2008 is sponsored by Summit Brewing Company and are being scheduled bi-monthly starting with our first event of the New Year on January 24th!

REDA members came out on a beautiful day in August 2007 to golf, network, and win prizes at the 2007 REDA West Side Masters Golf Tournament and as a result raised almost $10,000 for our organization!

Networking Events and Speaking Engagements were again provided for REDA members, including the West Side Masters Golf Tournament, After 5 Networking Events, and Business Luncheons.

REDA’s Loan Committee along with our Design and Development Committee merged into the Business Investment Committee and works to oversee all loan and grant applications as well as related projects. Our loan program is exclusively available to REDA members in the West Side Business Community.

Public Safety community meetings and updates that concern businesses in the West Side Community were carried out in 2007 and will continue to be organized in 2008.

Beautification and Public Improvements

REDA is leading the redevelopment of the Riverview Commercial Club building on Cesar Chavez and Robert Street in District del Sol.

Funding was awarded by the City of Saint Paul STAR program to install three new decorative District del Sol Bus Shelter roofs!

Blooming District del Sol finished its third year while continuing to improve and provide hanging flower baskets that beautify the commercial corridor. In 2007 REDA matched dollar for dollar all local business support.
